Lazy days, please enter

Super epic song:

Midterms ended yesterday!!! *cough*ididn'tstudyatall*cough*
Anywayyyyyyyy~ end of midterms means....

SENIORITIS HAS ENTERED THE BUILDING!
Actually, I've had senioritis since the end of my junior year.... but.... that's not the point.... it's just.... go with it, okay?

Anyway, since I'm now free to not do any schoolwork (without feeling guilty), I've decided to do something that I've wanted to learn since I was little....
Here's a rough list of the most important things I have yet to learn/do:

1. Learn how to read Chinese (Yeah, I'm Korean but it's kind of like learning Latin to understand romance languages better)
2. Learn to really play guitar (psssh two weeks of summer classes and all I can manage are 4 chords)
3, Memorize Moonlight Sonata
4. Learn to knit
5. Write a novel

So... I am tackling number 4!!!! Huzzah!

But....... OTL my first attempt was rather failure-filled:

I don't know any English terminology because my mom has been teaching me in Korean but I will attempt to explain... -_-

There are two types of stitches. My mom calls them forward and backward (I think backward is calling purling in English but I'm too fried to remember that).

Forward stitches create a vertical pattern.

Backward stitches, on the other hand, create a horizontal pattern.

Sorry about the terrible lighting but I have a migraine so most of my lights in my room are off
-_-

Anyway, my first attempt may look fine but that's only because I had to use my feet and my free hand to keep it flat. Since it was my first try, I alternated each row with forward and backward stitches. At first it looked ok but it CURLS UP LIKE A ROLY-POLY BUG! ARGH!

So, after I got enough roly-poly practice, I moved on to really making a scarf eUe

Since I had a snow day today (8 inches of snow, goodness), the above picture is a result of just today's work.

Notice that my feet are not needed to make this one lie flat.

The magical magicky magic secret my mom revealed to me is to alternate the (*sigh* this is too annoying to type. from here on, backward stitches are BS and forward are FS) FS and BS to create ribbing(? I think that's the terminology)

So it's 2 FS and 2 BS -u-
Hahaha I hope this doesn't turn into my knitting blog.

I don't know if this is obvious, but whenever I start something, I get obsessed. So from Maple Story to the Sims to knitting, my newest obsession is being an old lady hunched over a ball of yarn.....

Ah I almost forgot, I got accepted into Binghamton a couple of weeks ago! Yay!
But I'm really waiting for the spring when all my super-reach schools reply with either "YES" or "NOGTFO"

I also have my interview for reach school #4 sometime soon. OTL I hate talking to strangers. Wish me luck!
